Gordon-Pymble Uniting Church invites you to their weekly Harmonic Singalong
Every Monday (during school term) at 1.30pm
Singing has many benefits and studies have shown that the action of singing is incredibly beneficial to anyone including people with dementia and also for their carers.
Singing improves breathing, posture, and promotes relaxation. It also releases endorphins and reduces stress, which anyone who sings loudly in their car when they are alone can attest to.
For those with dementia, music, especially familiar songs, triggers memories and helps to stimulate cognitive function. Learning new songs or following along with music engages the brain, promoting mental agility and concentration.
This group is for all ages and you do not need to have any musical ability at all. Just a willingness to enjoy and have fun.
